Aaron's Birth
Duane and I would like to share our Hypnobirthing success story of the birth of our lovely son Aaron born Friday 2nd December at 10:35am 6 pounds 15 ounces
We really had an amazing Labor and birth with the help of Hypnobirthing Techniques and a few Angels along the way!
My Membranes released on Wednesday 5:30pm and we all expected things to get happening soon after than, we all anticipated Aaron's birth that evening. However our son was having an Eczema attack that night and I was having a hard time surrendering to the labor as I felt our first son needed me. So, that evening I would get a few surges and then it would stop for an hour or two and then have some more. That Thursday morning we met our midwife at the hospital to see what was going on. She put me on a machine to see how far apart the surges were and listen to baby's heart rate. She could see that we were having surges but we were definitely not in labor yet and baby was perfectly happy in there. However because my waters had released over 16 hours at that point the midwife and her back up were not willing to do a homebirth and she was also suggesting that we have antibiotics and even get induced to "get things moving". Yeah right?!*! We knew we were not going down that road... so, I just said "NO thanks!" and that I felt everything was fine and I was willing to give it more time.
That afternoon I was trying lots of things to get this labor to start up and stay going, dancing worked really well with the bouncing things started up for a we while but again would fizzle out. Then the beautiful Anna decided she would come by and see how she could help us. She did a session of EFT on me that was nothing less than miraculous! that very quickly brought up some emotions that were holding me back from being where I needed to be with this labor, she also did some Shiatsu and said just what I needed to hear to to get into this labor and then two hours after Anna left my surges started up and stayed consistent all night through, I was able to stay in bed and get rest between the surges and just get up and breathe through the surges with ease. By morning about 6:30am the surges were 6-7 mins apart and getting bigger but I was still fine on my own just staying relaxed and breathing through them... listening to the cds really helped me stay centered and relaxed and I just kept changing positions that felt like they were "Opening" me the best. Then just at the right time Duane decided it was time for him to get active in the labor... he brought me snacks, and did some light feathery massage between surges and firmer presser on my lower back which really help me through the bigger surges and seemed to open me even more quickly as well. By 9:30 my midwife came by to see how we were doing? And, just as she arrived I whent into Transition and had a couple of big surges, she was very impressed with how well we were coping through the surges. After those two big surges I was ready to push! However she wonted to check me to see if how far baby was up and how dilated I was first... she then thought that baby was a bit far up yet but, I was fully dilated. So, we all agreed to try and make it to the hospital. The car ride was very interesting as I was still having surges and wanting to push, thankfully I was able to hold off the pushing and breathe through the surges...
So, we make it to the hospital and I took 3-4 steps towards the foyer and started to have another surge and my body just starts to push baby right out!!
Luckily our timing was good and about 6-7 midwifes were on there way to a meeting and came rushing in to our aid :)
That first push had baby crowning and by the second surge I was able to very easily breathe out baby's head and third surge baby's body was out! It was so easy with the birth breathing rather than pushing...
So, baby Aaron was born right there in front of the Hospital in the fresh air with the whole world watching!!
So, I say Hypnobirthing absolutely 100% works, (if you do your part of course), What a huge difference this time from our first birth!!
